Donald Trump dominated yesterday’s Iowa caucuses, proving the polls largely correct. The former president won a record-setting 51% of the vote and swept 98 of 99 counties in the process.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis slightly over-performed and won the Gen Z vote, but still came in a distant second with 21%, edging past former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley with 19%.
Following a disappointing 8% showing, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his campaign and threw his support behind Trump. This move is likely to further fuel the belief among insiders that Ramaswamy has been angling for a vice presidential nomination, some have argued even at the expense of his presidential aspirations.
The battle for the Republican presidential nomination moves to New Hampshire next week.
