U.S. nuclear power lags 15 years behind China

A new study warns the United States is 15 years behind China’s nuclear power generation.

According to the report, China has invested heavily in nuclear power. There are currently 27 reactors under construction – twice the number of any other country.

China is also building faster than any other country with an average project time of seven years. For comparison, the new Georgia Power reactor took 15 years to complete. The think tank projects that Beijing will overtake the U.S. to become the biggest producer of nuclear energy by the end of this decade.
