A U.S. warship intercepted multiple missiles and drones launched from Yemen Thursday.

Pentagon press secretary Brigadier Gen. Pat Ryder confirmed that the USS Carney shot down three missiles and multiple drones launched by the Iranian-backed militant group, the Houthi forces.

Meanwhile, there was another drone attack on overseas U.S. forces. This time, two drones targeted a garrison in Syria that houses anti-ISIS coalition forces. The press secretary reported minor injuries. This follows four drones launched at coalition bases in Iraq earlier this week.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin made a series of phone calls to the Middle East Thursday to stress American support for Israel. He warned against any attempts by another country to widen the conflict, stating the U.S. would step in to defend allies and interests within the region.
