Ukrainian forces in Russia have seized over 380 square miles of territory and captured at least 28 settlements, according to Ukraine’s top commander.
It’s the first time a Ukrainian military official has publicly commented about the surprise incursion, which started one week ago. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media yesterday that Russia’s war was coming home. Russian officials report that over 100,000 civilians have already fled from the Kursk border region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his Defense Ministry to “knock out the enemy from our territories.”
