UN investigators still looking into 14 UNRWA workers despite report

The UN continues its investigations of employees working for the U.N. relief agency for Palestinians, known as UNRWA.

Israel had accused the agency members of having ties to Hamas, but the UN denied some of those claims. However, the organization is now investigating 14 members who may have been complicit in the October 7 attacks.

According to an AP report, the watchdog group carrying out the probe said one case had already been closed for lack of evidence. Four other cases were suspended due to insufficient evidence.

Nonetheless, a review of the relief agency said that UNWRA had concerning gaps in its neutrality policies. The review recommends 50 policy changes based on that report.
