It looks like Donald Trump’s interview with Elon Musk has ruffled the feathers of a major auto union.
United Auto Workers has filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board against both Trump and Musk. The complaint stems from a part of their conversation where Trump praised the Tesla owner’s ability to cut costs, saying he wouldn’t tolerate workers who go on strike.
The UAW, which recently endorsed Kamala Harris, accused Trump and Musk of “illegal attempts to threaten and intimidate workers who stand up for themselves by engaging in protected concerted activity, such as strikes” – noting it’s illegal to fire workers for going on strike.
Trump campaign advisor Brian Hughes shrugged off the lawsuit as ” frivolous,” calling it a ” a shameless political stunt intended to erode President Trump’s overwhelming support among America’s workers.”
