The University of Florida has officially cut all DEI positions.
On Friday, the school axed nearly 30 jobs, including 13 full-time positions. Those terminations free up $5 million, which will now go to the faculty recruitment fund.
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation nearly a year ago banning the use of state and federal funds for DEI programs, activities, and policies. The state Board of Education officially announced the rule earlier this year.
Following the firings, DeSantis posted the news on X, saying “Florida is where DEI goes to die.”
