US looks for alternatives to floating pier in Gaza

The Biden administration is trying to come up with new ideas to get aid into Gaza as the floating pier systems continue to face problems.

The pier was built in mid-May and has already been forced to shut down multiple times, even though it is currently operational for the time being. Officials say it will most likely be dismantled in the next couple of months.

According to NBC News, the US is now considering working with a private company to replace it with a more stable and reliable pier system. The US is also working on plans to deliver aid through the Israeli port at Ashdod.
