US pauses future weapons shipment to Israel amid Rafah invasion

The US is pausing some bomb shipments to Israel as the country is trying to discourage Israel from its large-scale operation in Rafah.

The Biden administration has put a pause on two shipments out of fear that the precision bombs would be used in Rafah. A US official told Fox News Digital, “The U.S. position has been that Israel should not launch a major ground operation in Rafah, where more than a million people are sheltering with nowhere else to go.”

The official added that discussions with Israel are ongoing, but that Israeli leaders have not fully addressed US concerns. The official went on to say that the pause on shipments refers to “future transfers” not “imminent transfers.”

The administration’s action is separate from the supplemental aid bill passed last month.
