US reallocates air defense missiles for Ukraine

The US is redirecting its military aid for other nations to Ukraine.

White House national security advisor John Kirby explained yesterday that though this was a difficult decision, Ukraine needs more weapons, particularly Patriot and NASAM missiles. He added that the countries who have requested these missiles will receive them in the future, but the process will take longer than usual.

However, he emphasized that if any other ally nations needed the same help that Ukraine needs now, the US would without a doubt offer that same kind of assistance.

He added, “We’re grateful to the nations that we’ve reached out to and have not only understood but many of them have been fully supportive of this decision.”
