Trump’s vice presidential pick, J. D. Vance, keeps getting grilled over his comments on the former president’s national abortion policy.
In an earlier interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, Vance was cornered into saying that Trump would veto a national abortion ban should the legislation come to his desk.
Vance is now walking back that assertion, saying he’s “learned his lesson” and would not speak for the former president. He instead emphasized Trump’s view that abortion policies should be left to the states.
Vance again reiterated his point on ABC News, saying that the media harping on a non-existent national abortion policy is a distraction from the state of the economy under the Biden administration.
