Voting rights organization sues over fake Biden calls in NH Primary

A leading voting rights organization filed suit yesterday against a Democratic political consultant.

Steve Kramer is accused of using AI robocalls impersonating Joe Biden telling people not to vote in the New Hampshire Democratic primary. Kramer was working for Biden’s primary challenger, Dean Philips, at the time – though Phillips says his campaign had nothing to do with it. Kramer says the calls were meant to show the dangers of AI.

Kramer now faces thousands of dollars in fines from a group of New Hampshire voters and the League of Women Voters. The complainants also say he should be barred from making similar fake calls in the future. The state attorney general’s office is also looking into the issue.
