VP Harris meets with Netanyahu political rival

Vice President Kamala Harris met with Israel wartime cabinet member Benny Gantz at the White House yesterday.

This came just one day after Harris demanded an immediate six-week ceasefire in Gaza. The vice president told reporters that the two discussed shared priorities concerning the war.

Gantz, a centrist political rival of Benjamin Netanyahu, requested the meeting in defiance of the prime minister’s objections. Many Israelis are expressing discontent with Netanyahu’s handling of the war, favoring Gantz as a result, even though the two hold many of the same views on key issues.
