VP Kamala Harris calls for ceasefire

Vice President Kamala Harris called for an immediate six-week ceasefire in the Gaza Strip yesterday, citing the “immense scale of suffering in Gaza.”

Those words represent the Biden administration’s most forceful call yet concerning the war, and they come as Hamas returned to Cairo, Egypt, yesterday to resume talks. So far, the terrorists have refused to reveal which October 7 hostages are still alive, which has stalled negotiations.

Harris also met with Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz at the White House today.

The House Freedom Caucus is unveiling a resolution tomorrow that, if passed, would rebuke officials who call for a ceasefire or an independent Palestinian state. Chairman Bob Good (R-Va.) says that the Biden administration has “undermined Israel’s efforts to defend itself.”
