Christian persecution on rise in Yemen amid Gaza War

by ian

The ongoing Gaza conflict is increasing the persecution of Yemeni Christians.

Open Doors reports that the small community of Christians in the region is becoming the scapegoat of Houthi aggressors. One Yemeni Christian, who fled the country 20 years ago, says that the current war with Israel will only make things worse for believers.

He says that people will align themselves with the Houthi leaders to gang up on Christians. As a result, many are forced to practice their faith in secret, and some even face persecution from their families.

This comes as Open Doors lists Yemen as the fifth most dangerous country for Christians.
