Zelenskyy presses Western nations to allow Ukraine to take fight to Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is asking the US and NATO allies to do more to support his country against Russia.

The US has so far opposed Zelenskyy’s request, even though lawmakers passed a $60 billion aid package to help Ukraine last month. But that didn’t stop Zelenskyy from airing his grievances on Monday when he said the US is too slow to provide aid to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also said that Russia’s latest advances have created “one of the most difficult” situations in Ukraine since the start of their conflict in 2022. But some US lawmakers are growing wary of providing aid to Ukraine, as it often doesn’t end up in the right hands.
