Zelenskyy pushes Victory Plan at U.N. General Assembly

The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly is officially underway in New York.

World leaders have gathered to debate and address urgent global challenges. That includes the war in Ukraine, which is now in its third year.

The summit is an opportunity for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to drum up support for his proposed path to peace. He’s already met with many other nations on the sidelines and addressed the assembly earlier today.

Zelenskyy says he will present his Victory Plan in full to President Joe Biden on Thursday. But he’s said the focus is on strengthening Ukraine until Russia caves to diplomatic pressure.

He also plans to meet with Congress and both presidential nominees before he leaves the U.S.
